The name IchthuX is derived from the greek word ichthus, which means ``fish''.
The symbol of the fish was widely used in early Christianity because ichtus was used as the abbreviation for Iesous (Jesus) CHristos (Christ) THeou (of God) Uios (the Son) Soter (Savior), which means : Jesus, Son of God, Savior. The symbol of the fish is thus a general symbol of Christianity, as the cross is. See also WikiPedia:Ichthus (interwiki).
